Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and champion the Value Engineering (VE) process. This is to include implementing a VE protocol of procedures by:
- Conducting systematic VE reviews of the drawings and design documents at milestones corresponding to the Project schedule.
- Outline Consultants’ role in establishing and chairing a program of workshops and meetings.
- Assessing the benefit of proposed changes against their effect on Project time, cost, and quality on the Project as a whole and not in isolation and make recommendations for Client ’s consideration. Conduct value analysis studies to define the program of a large-scale infrastructure project.
- Identify the project’s essential functions and propose technical or organizational alternatives aimed at cost reduction of the project. This activity is to apply to all design produced to date, irrespective of whether the works packages have been awarded to Contractor(s), or are partially under construction, to identify opportunities for further cost reductions or schedule/program improvement.
- Advise and make recommendations with respect to other key factors as Value Engineering and construction feasibility, suitability for local conditions, availability of materials and labor, time requirements for procurement and construction, compliance with HSSE requirements, compliance with sustainability programs, and potential impact on project costs and time.
- Facilitate value analysis follow-up workshops and multidisciplinary sessions with the client and their partners. Collaborate with project teams to implement the selected solutions.
- Establish and monitor technical and cost performance indicators for the project. Draft analysis reports and present results to project stakeholders.
Required Skills :
- Strong facilitation skills for meetings and working groups involving multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and unite participants around the objectives of the value analysis approach.
- Proficiency in value analysis methods, problem-solving, and cost optimization especially in the context of urban development.
- Solid knowledge of project management involving multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
Profile :
- Degree in Engineering / Quantity Surveying / Urban Planning.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a project management environment.
- A certification in Value Engineering is a plus.
