Reporting to the eSolutions Manager, the Biometrics Consultant will consult with small project teams or contribute to larger teams, analyze system components, manage interrelationships, and facilitate change. Detect inefficiencies or conflicts in systems and processes and help identify effective improvements. Facilitate communication between customers, SMEs, and technical staff. Participate in testing functions (e.g., string and acceptance tests) to verify results.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in developing processes and procedures supporting customers and institutionalizing new capabilities through the JIE.
- Communicate and advise customers on the practical use of identity management systems within operational scenarios.
- Develop informational papers and briefings on biometric technologies and authentication models to enhance infrastructure.
- Analyze and recommend based on product maturity, vendor support, and emerging technologies to shape biometric usage.
- Oversee and review existing and new biometric modalities and their applicability.
- Collaborate with customers to gather information, define complex problems, and design biometric systems and procedures.
- Stay current with relevant technologies and subject areas.
- Identify emerging technologies that could improve current processes and systems.
- Analyze problems related to management information and develop proposals for maximum profit or effectiveness considering cost or risk.
- Interact frequently with non-technical customer managers, subcontractor project managers, and local government users of biometric systems.
- Lead functional analysis projects to document complex process steps and their relationships.
- Detect issues in biometric system performance and create effective solutions.
- Conduct systematic reviews of functions to determine system design or application.
- Recommend operational improvements and modifications, and generate reports and documents for senior client personnel.
- Develop and update manuals outlining methods of work in accordance with organizational policies.
- Coordinate activities with subcontractors, government personnel, and technical experts as a client liaison.
- Provide guidance and team leadership on complex projects, reviewing work for errors or modifications.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of current biometrics technology and policies.
- Experience supporting strategy development.
- Understanding of the Joint Information Environment (JIE) and architectures.
- Experience analyzing technologies, processes, tools, and architecture for cybersecurity programs.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in AFIS, Forensic, LiveScan, and Identity Management development and implementation.
- Master’s Degree in a technical field is preferable.
