Job description

Job Purpose :

To ensure the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of utility systems and equipment used in the production of nicotine pouches.

Functional Accountabilities:

Utilities Maintenance and Troubleshooting

  • Conduct comprehensive and regular maintenance on utility systems and equipment, including but not limited to electrical, HVAC, water, and gas systems, to ensure continuous and efficient operation. This includes routine inspections, servicing, and repairs as needed.
  • Diagnose and address system malfunctions or failures swiftly, employing troubleshooting techniques and tools to minimize downtime and restore functionality. Develop contingency plans to handle unforeseen issues effectively.
  • Design and implement preventive maintenance schedules based on system usage patterns and historical performance data. Ensure that maintenance tasks are completed on time to prevent unexpected breakdowns and extend the lifespan of utility systems.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to relevant safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies. Regularly review and update procedures to comply with any changes in regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, replacements, and upgrades. Ensure accurate documentation is available for regulatory inspections and audits. Develop and manage a comprehensive tracking system for maintenance history and performance metrics.
  • Monitor energy consumption and efficiency across utility systems, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and sustainabity improvements. Implement strategies to optimize energy use and reduce waste, contributing to overall operational cost management.

System Upgrades and Training

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for system upgrades or enhancements to improve utility performance, efficiency, and reliability. Collaborate with vendors and engineers to plan and execute system improvements, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for junior technicians on utility system operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols. Ensure that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively and safely.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to align utility systems with operational needs. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to address system-related challenges, support production goals, and ensure the seamless integration of utilities with broader facility operations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in utilities maintenance, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Additional certifications in HVAC, Electrical Systems, or Industrial Utilities Maintenance are considered an advantage.
