Job description

We are looking for a Unix/Linux Engineer (Medina Airport)

Description of work:

Planning, designing, installing Unix/Linux systems, storage units, server hardware and backup systems at the terminals he is responsible for, and ensuring that 24/7 operation support is provided safely and without any problems.

Main Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Design, installation, administration, configuration, upgrade, migration and maintenance of Linux Servers and automation tools (Debian and Redhat derivatives, Ansible, Satellite, etc.).
• Experience with Server, Storage & SAN (Storage Area Network) hardware setup, management and maintenance, as well as virtualization and containerization (VMware, Openshift, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Responsible for performance monitoring and tuning of systems.
• Installation and management of backup systems (Veeam Backup).
• Maintaining high availability and redundancy of business critical Unix/Linux systems, SAN, Backup and VMware systems.
• Close security gaps of the systems for which he is responsible within the scope of internal and external audit.
• Carry out feasibility studies to determine the needs within the scope of Unix/Linux systems, backup systems, storage units, and virtual systems in new projects.
• Follow technological developments of the systems under his responsibility and ensure that they are applied to the institution as needed.
• Produce solutions by quickly addressing related requests.
• Perform long-term planning for hardware and software upgrades and prepare annual capacity plans.
• Administer and execute various management activities and manage all backup activities.
• Prepare and enforce information security management system documentation.
• Follow up on licensing and support agreements.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related area) preferred.

Relevant work experience: 5 years
