Job Description


Overview:

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Unconventional Resources (UR) Producing Department.

The UR Producing Department Operations is responsible for operating all the surface facilities which include the field wells and processing facilities. Your role will be to operate the well manifolds, provide field services, maintain the facility, reduce equipment downtime, perform PM activities, and provide maintenance services in addition to all technical engineering and inspection activities.

As an Electrical Engineer, your primary role will be to demonstrate the ability to work with design contractors to review contractor design packages, provide inputs to Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) packages, introduce new technology to enhance company productivity, suggest innovative solutions to optimize equipment performance, and demonstrate safe working practices. You will work with multidisciplinary teams producing reports, studies, and presentations that are pivotal in shaping management's decisions.

You will provide professional advice and guidance regarding electrical systems, schemes, equipment or techniques, facility designs, and solutions to operating and maintenance problems. The candidate will have a thorough understanding of plant operations, specialized experience in electrical high voltage and low voltage systems for large scale complex electrical distribution systems, and experience in power reliability analysis for electrical distribution systems, which involves carrying out power system studies using software like Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP).

Key Responsibilities:

As the successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following:

  1. Provide day-to-day technical support to Operations and Maintenance Units to troubleshoot and fix electrical systems including reporting and documentation.
  2. Provide expert advice and assistance to design, construction, maintenance engineers and operation personnel on all matters related to electrical systems.
  3. Develop engineering conceptual plans for new installation and upgrade projects including development of work scopes, calculations, and detailed technical specifications.
  4. Review Project Proposals and Detailed Designs packages for new facilities.
  5. Participate in the testing & commissioning of new facilities and Turnaround and Inspection (T&I).
  6. Analyze system performance and find solutions for energy saving.
  7. Ensure quality, cost-effective, and timely solutions to any upgrade.
  8. Ensure full (Health, Safety, and Environment) HSE Compliance.
  9. Report and analyze key performance indices.
  10. Make recommendations for technical/economic optimization of existing facilities.
  11. Lead feasibility/profitability studies for new facilities.
  12. Contribute to Business Unit strategy.
  13. Provide analysis, evaluation, and interpretation in support of projects, processes, and financing related to Saudi Aramco capital investment decisions.
  14. Maintain and expand contacts within the industry.
  15. Regularly interact with other professionals in various company organizations involved in capital planning and economic analysis.

Minimum Requirements:

As the successful candidate, you will hold:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university; a higher degree is preferred.
  2. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration will be desirable but is not essential.
  3. At least 10 years of working experience in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  4. Must be conversant and have working knowledge of industry codes and standards, such as NFPA, ANSI IEEE, IEC, API, NEC, NACE, and others.
  5. Experience with specifications and data sheets for Electrical equipment like EHV GIS/AIS Switchgear, Power Transformers, large synchronous/induction motors, HV/LV Switchgears and Control gears, EHV/HV/LV Cables, Bus ducts, EHV GIBs, UPS, Battery Charger, NGR, Panel boards.
  6. Experience in preparation of Single line diagrams, protection and metering schemes, motor schematics, Hazardous area classification drawings, substation automation architecture, synchronizing and bus changeover schemes.
  7. Experience in electrical engineering calculations like Grounding/Earthing, Battery charger/Battery sizing, Transformer sizing, Cable sizing, Electrical Load schedules, Lighting. Also, knowledge of Electrical Power system studies including Short Circuit, Load Flow analysis, Motor starting, Arc Flash Hazard studies, Relay coordination, and setting using software like ETAP.
  8. Conduct failure analysis and provide recommendations for failed electrical equipment.
  9. Experience with electrical equipment field installation, commissioning, and testing.
  10. Experience in Electrical Equipment layouts, plant cable routing layouts, lighting, and grounding layouts.
  11. Work in remote areas depending on the project or task assignments.
