Qualifications

  • 10+ years as Maintenance/Turnaround EH&S Coordinator.
  • Professional certifications in EH&S, preferably NEBOSH.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate EH&S compliance and training for TA contractors.

  • Develop and promote safety culture within the TA team.

Job description

The purpose of this job is to provide EH&S guidelines to the Turnaround planning team for TA scope definition during the planning phase. Coordination with TA Contractors and stakeholders to make them accountable for EH&S compliance, trainings, and industrial hygiene instructions to be followed during Pre-TA activities, execution phase, and post TA activities.

Role and Responsibilities
  1. Assist planning team with Turnaround scope definition to be in line with EH&S compliance.
  2. Coordinate site training plans on all applicable training programs for employee orientations, EH&S trainings for new employees, temporary employees, and TA contractors. Also, maintain training records for all TA contractor personnel.
  3. Review EH&S plans and JSA’s submitted by TA contractors to be in line with company EH&S plan.
  4. Conduct regular job site safety/health inspections and Job Safety Analysis.
  5. Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and governmental regulations.
  6. Intervene in activities that pose threats to workers’ health and safety or the environment and provide necessary guidelines to ensure that effective EH&S practices are implemented.
  7. Participate in investigating accidents and near-misses to identify causes, determine root causes, and identify prevention measures & prepare incident and various EH&S related metric reports.
  8. Maintain current working knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulation affecting the workplace and keep Manager and others regularly informed.
  9. Responsible for developing and promoting safety culture within the TA team for a positive approach ensuring worker health and safety and good environment.
  10. Practice safe work techniques and reinforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures during Turnaround as set out by the company.
  11. Conduct on-the-spot EH&S trainings during execution.
  12. Participate as a key stakeholder in EH&S meetings.
  13. Participate in recognition programs.
  14. Develop programs and topics to enhance safety culture and reward positive contributors.
  15. Work closely with EH&S compliance team to implement EH&S instructions, industrial hygiene awareness, and workplace ergonomic/fatigue program.
  16. Prepare and conduct daily EH&S Toolbox Talks and awareness programs.
  17. Inspect all necessary safety PPE’s & equipment and coordinate reasonable inventory at site during TA execution.
  18. Participate in site walkthroughs with Management during Pre-, Post-, and execution phases.
  19. Participate in MOC process for any facility changes during TA with potential EH&S impacts.
  20. Interview Contractors EH&S personnel for assessment of TA suitability.
  21. Review permits and adherence to permits. Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/manager.
Desired Candidate Profile

Education:

  1. Acceptable and valid health certificate.
  2. Any job-related professional certificates (OSHA, preferred NEBOSH certified).

Experience:

  1. Minimum 10 years as Maintenance/Turnaround EH&S Coordinator.
  2. Minimum 1 full cycle of major TA’s as full-time TA EH&S Coordinator.

Skills:

  1. Excellent English communication skills (orally and written).
  2. Excellent Urdu communication skills (orally and written).
  3. Excellent understanding of EH&S standards, rules, and regulations.
  4. Basic computer skills: Email & MS Office.
  5. EH&S high consciousness.
