ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Strategic Development:Formulate and implement transportation strategies aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and minimizing costs.


• Cross-Department Coordination:Collaborate with internal teams to effectively schedule transportation activities that align with customer requirements.


• Regulatory Compliance Oversight:Monitor transportation operations to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.


• Driver Management:Oversee driver performance, including training initiatives, scheduling, and conducting performance evaluations.


• Issue Resolution:Proactively identify and address transportation challenges in a timely manner to ensure seamless operations.


• Data Analysis:Evaluate transportation data to uncover opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.


• Customer Collaboration:Foster relationships with customers to guarantee consistent and reliable transportation services.


• Reporting:Prepare and present comprehensive reports on transportation metrics, budget considerations, and performance for management review.


• Command Center Operations:Efficiently manage operations through the command center, including the enhancement of existing tracking systems.


• Fleet Maintenance Management:Supervise the in-house fleet maintenance workshop, ensuring effective team collaboration.


• Transportation Management System (TMS) Development:Advance operations associated with the current TMS to improve overall efficiency.


• Sales Plan Accountability:Ensure achievement of the transportation sales plan, aligning it with organizational goals


• Real-Time Tracking: Implement and utilize tracking systems that provide real-time visibility of shipments throughout the transportation process.


• Lead Time Management: Analyze and manage lead times for shipments, ensuring that timelines are met and communicated clearly to stakeholders.


• Route Optimization: Analyze and optimize transportation routes to improve delivery times and reduce fuel consumption,


• Performance Evaluation: Regularly evaluate performance based on timeliness, reliability, and service quality to ensure adherence to delivery schedules.


• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop and maintain SOPs for all phases of the shipping process to ensure consistency and reliability in operations.


• Compliance Training: Develop training programs for staff to ensure ongoing compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.


• Shipment Coordination: Coordinate closely with warehousing and logistics teams to ensure that outbound shipments are prepared and dispatched on schedule.
