Job description

Overview:

The Transport Manager leads the planning and design of ADC’s national transport network infrastructure. This includes optical (DWDM), microwave, and IP/MPLS systems that connect RAN, core, and data centers. The role ensures high availability, scalability, and security across transport domains and supports future evolution into programmable and automated networks.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture and engineering of ADC’s transport network, ensuring alignment with service demands and future capacity requirements.
  • Manage transport expansion, node upgrades, and routing design across national fiber and microwave infrastructure.
  • Oversee link design, provisioning, and commissioning of DWDM, OTN, and IP/MPLS elements.
  • Collaborate with field, core, and RAN teams to ensure seamless cross-domain connectivity.
  • Monitor transport network KPIs, troubleshoot service issues, and implement optimization measures.
  • Coordinate vendor engagement for equipment procurement, support, and software upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with availability, latency, and SLA objectives across transport domains.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives such as 400G readiness, segment routing, and SDN-based transport.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • +4 years of experience in designing and planning transport network infrastructure.
  • Experience in Network Automation & Orchestration in a multi-vendor environment.

Skills:

  • Expertise in IP/MPLS, DWDM, microwave systems, link budgeting, and QoS.
  • Familiarity with transport NMS/EMS tools, path computation, and network automation strategies.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and vendor coordination skills.
