Primary Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Traffic Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing traffic engineering projects, conducting traffic analyses, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement traffic engineering projects, exercising sound engineering judgment.
  • Prepare traffic impact analysis reports, traffic signal designs, and technical documents to support project needs.
  • Apply traffic engineering principles to analyse and optimize traffic flow, safety, and roadway efficiency.
  • Oversee and manage mid-sized transportation projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Serve as a technical specialist and consultant, providing expert advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including urban planners, civil engineers, and government agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national traffic regulations and standards.
  • Utilize industry-standard software for traffic modelling, simulation, and safety analysis.
  • Communicate project progress effectively to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain one).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in traffic analysis, traffic engineering, and project management.
  • Experience working in a consulting role, engaging with clients and stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with traffic modelling and analysis tools such as HCS, Synchro, Sidra.
  • Experience conducting safety analysis using tools like Highway Safety Software.
  • Knowledge of transportation planning, traffic control systems, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
  • Familiarity with local and international traffic regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Ability to manage projects, budgets, and timelines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to develop technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with microsimulation tools such as VISSIM or Aimsun.
  • Familiarity with macro analysis using Visum or Aimsun.
  • Knowledge and experience in traffic safety analysis.
  • Strong background in both traffic analysis and safety components (highly valued).
