Job Description

The Role

Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a TPE V / Principal Electrical Engineer based in our Khobar Office in Saudi Arabia.

Expected Qualifications and Experience

• Fellow or Corporate member of a recognized Electrical Chartered Professional body
• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 15 years of experience
• At least 10 years' experience in gas plants and the oil & gas industry
• Leadership experience
• Working knowledge of Saudi Aramco codes and standards, IEC, ANSI, NFPS
• Excellent safety awareness
• Experience in US Unconventional Gas / shale market is beneficial
• Proven track record in the FEED project phase
• Proficient in ETAP and Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Typical Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee electrical system studies for power transmission and distribution
• Develop electrical deliverables and associated hours for FEED work
• Prepare man-hour estimates for electrical engineering and design activities
• Schedule, report progress, and forecast electrical engineering activities
• Manage man-hour expenditures for assigned projects
• Execute assigned work and deliver documentation within the project schedule
• Develop detailed design deliverables for transmission, distribution, protection, and control schemes
• Perform electrical calculations for short circuit, load flow, equipment sizing, cable sizing, UPS sizing
• Design substations, including electrical one-line diagrams, metering, protection schemes, control schemes, and layout
• Develop all FEED design deliverables to support cost estimation and EPC ITB preparation
• Manage cable routing and electrical equipment layouts into a 3D design model
• Develop specifications and material requisitions for LV & HV electrical switchgear, UPS, MCC, power transformers, and other electrical equipment
• Review vendor quotations, evaluate technical proposals, and recommend suitable vendors
• Coordinate with other disciplines and departments
• Conduct technical investigations, produce reports, and develop standards and procedures
• Ensure technical quality and timely project delivery
• Utilize project experience and lessons learned to improve processes
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental standards and promote high HSE performance
• Participate in design activities, provide training, and review documentation
• Verify designs meet standards and project objectives
