Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently seeking a TPE V/Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team in Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform and oversee electrical system studies for power transmission and distribution.
  • Develop electrical deliverables and associated hours for FEED work.
  • Prepare man-hour estimates for electrical engineering and design activities.
  • Schedule, report progress, and forecast electrical engineering activities.
  • Manage man-hour expenditures for assigned projects.
  • Execute assigned work and deliver documentation within the project schedule.
  • Develop detailed design deliverables for transmission, distribution, protection, and control schemes.
  • Perform electrical calculations for short circuit, load flow, equipment sizing, cable sizing, UPS sizing.
  • Design substations, including preparation of electrical one-line diagrams, metering and protection schemes, control and indication schemes, and layouts.
  • Develop all FEED design deliverables to support cost estimates and EPC ITB preparation.
  • Manage cable routing and electrical equipment layouts in a 3D design model.
  • Develop specifications and prepare material requisitions for LV & HV electrical switchgear, UPS, MCC, power transformers, distribution equipment, earthing, and other electrical equipment.
  • Review vendor quotations, evaluate technical proposals, and recommend the most suitable vendors.
  • Coordinate and liaise with other disciplines and departments.
  • Conduct technical investigations, produce reports, and develop engineering standards and procedures.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise and decision-making skills to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Utilize project experiences and lessons learned within the discipline.
  • Adhere to safety, health, and environmental standards, demonstrating a commitment to high HSE performance.
  • Participate in design activities, provide training, and review documentation.
  • Ensure all designs meet required standards and project objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fellow or Corporate member of a recognized Electrical Chartered Professional body.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 20 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in the gas plant and oil & gas industry.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of Saudi Aramco codes and standards, IEC, ANSI, NFPS.
  • Excellent safety awareness.
  • Experience in US Unconventional Gas/shale projects is a plus.
  • Proven track record in FEED project phases.
  • Proficiency with ETAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
