Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

WOOD is seeking a highly skilled Senior Architect / BIM Coordinator with solid experience in the Oil & Gas sector, particularly on Saudi Aramco projects. The candidate will oversee the architectural design process and BIM coordination, ensuring strict compliance with Aramco standards, industrial safety regulations, and project specifications. You will play a critical role in driving project delivery excellence from concept to "Issued For Construction" across complex industrial and residential facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead architectural design development for Oil & Gas facilities including administrative buildings, control rooms, substations, and industrial support Buildings.
  • Coordinate BIM models across disciplines (Civil, Structural, MEP, Process Engineering) to ensure integration and clash-free deliverables.
  • Implement and maintain Aramco's BIM requirements and project-specific standards.
  • Conduct BIM coordination meetings, model reviews, and clash detection using tools like Navisworks Manage.
  • Collaborate closely with project stakeholders, including Aramco PMTs (Project Management Teams), consultants, and contractors.
  • Prepare and review architectural deliverables such as design reports, IFC (Issued For Construction) packages, and shop drawings.
  • Manage project schedules and ensure timely submission of deliverables aligned with Aramco gate reviews and approval processes.
  • Provide mentorship to junior architects and BIM technicians to maintain high-quality project outputs.
  • Support procurement and construction phases through design clarifications and site coordination when required.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), General Instructions (GIs), and applicable international codes.
  • Act as a senior Architect by developing Architectural Deliverables and conducting code Analysis where required.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience, with at least 5 years directly involved in Oil & Gas / Industrial projects.
  • Proven experience delivering projects for Saudi Aramco (with SAP Numbers or prior Aramco project approvals preferred).
  • Expert proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and BIM 360.
  • Strong understanding of Saudi Aramco standards (SAES, SAMSS, SAEP) and procedures.
  • Familiarity with industrial architecture requirements (blast resistance, fireproofing, control building design, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of multidisciplinary coordination (Structural, Piping, Electrical, HVAC, Instrumentation).
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills; ability to interact effectively with Aramco project teams.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments and meet tight deadlines.


Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of additional software such as Dynamo for Revit, Civil 3D, or Bentley tools.
  • Understanding of industrial safety standards (NFPA, API, OSHA).
  • PMP Certification or equivalent project management exposure is an advantage.
  • Previous Aramco Work Permit Receiver (WPR) certification or similar site experience is a plus.
