A leading company in the electrical testing and power generation industry is seeking a Testing Technician (LT2/HT3) to evaluate the performance of low-tension and high-tension motors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in motor testing, along with proficiency in evaluating and diagnosing electrical systems. Responsibilities include conducting various tests, documenting results, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates must possess a diploma in Electrical Engineering and relevant certification for motor testing.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Testing Technician (LT2/HT3) to carry out electrical testing, diagnostics, and performance evaluation of low-tension (LT) and high-tension (HT) motors. The ideal candidate should be proficient in testing motors up to 480V and 1,000 HP (LT), as well as 11kV / 13.8kV and up to 30,000 HP (HT). The role demands a strong understanding of insulation resistance, winding analysis, surge testing, and electrical test protocols used in industrial, utility, and heavy-duty applications.
Perform routine and advanced electrical testing of LT motors up to 480V and 1,000 HP.
Execute HT motor testing up to 11kV / 13.8kV and 30,000 HP, including insulation resistance, polarization index, and surge testing.
Operate and calibrate specialized test equipment such as megger, power analyzers, hipot tester, and surge comparison testers.
Record test data and prepare detailed test reports for customer and internal QA records.
Troubleshoot motor faults and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and company procedures.
Coordinate with electrical engineers and maintenance teams during installations or inspections.
Maintain accurate documentation of test results, equipment calibrations, and service records.
Diploma / ITI in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Certification in motor testing or electrical safety practices is a plus.
In-depth understanding of LT and HT electrical motor testing procedures.
Proficiency with electrical testing tools and safety practices.
Ability to interpret motor winding diagrams and test protocols.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Basic knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations (e.g., IEC/IEEE standards).
Good communication and documentation skills.
Physically fit to handle field work and testing equipment.
