Job description

The opportunity

To build a role responsible for administering, consulting, and negotiating product/service contracts with external customers. Develops pre-sales contract strategies and collaborates with marketing, sales, and business management teams to structure proposals, contracts, and bid documents. Negotiates contracts aligned with business objectives and manages contract amendments and renegotiations to accommodate scope changes. Ensures fulfillment of contractual obligations. Responsibilities may include managing projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision, coaching, and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals. The role involves handling complex problems.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  1. Formulates competitive bids, estimates, and quotations, considering the best product mix and technical and commercial considerations.
  2. Ensures tenders are well documented timely and with appropriate detail, including full and accurate costs.
  3. Manages the preparation of technical, financial, and project management aspects of bids and quotations, including prices and trading conditions.
  4. Identifies potential risks in bids, quotations, estimates, and related contracts.
  5. Participates in the Risk Review process according to company policy.
  6. Identifies potential vendors and evaluates supplier offers to ensure specifications match.
  7. Collaborates with Supply Chain Management for subcontractor requests.
  8. Collects information for proposal preparation, including technical and cost elements.
  9. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
  10. Upholds Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions and caring for colleagues and the business.

Your background

  1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in the electrical substation field.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Proficiency in spoken and written English.
