Job description

The opportunity

To build a role responsible for administering, consulting, and negotiating product/service contracts with external customers. Develops pre-sales contract strategies and collaborates closely with marketing, sales, and business management teams to structure proposals, contracts, and bid documents. Negotiates contracts aligned with business objectives and manages contract amendments and renegotiations to accommodate scope changes. Ensures the fulfillment of contractual obligations from all parties involved. Responsibilities may include managing projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision, coaching, and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals. Challenges faced can be difficult and complex.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Formulates competitive bids, estimates, and quotations, considering the best product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each situation.
  • Ensures tenders are well documented in a timely manner with appropriate detail, including full and accurate costings.
  • Prepares technical aspects (e.g., selecting suitable technology and product types), financial aspects (e.g., price sheets, cash flow analysis), and project management components (e.g., engineering and commissioning hours), indicating prices and trading conditions.
  • Identifies potential risks in bids, quotations, estimates, and related contract agreements across customers and channels.
  • Participates in the Risk Review process in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy.
  • Evaluates potential vendors for equipment and materials, ensuring offers match specifications.
  • Coordinates with Supply Chain Management to request and manage subcontractor services.
  • Collects necessary information for proposal preparation, including technical and cost elements.

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electrical substation field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
