Job description

Perform ultrasound procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention and produce high quality images on appropriate archival systems.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Perform ultrasound imaging and related procedures in all areas of ultrasound.
  • Record patient images via appropriate archival media, transfer images as needed.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities in the department.
  • Maintain appropriate quality control records and participate in routine equipment testing and maintenance.
  • Review clinical information regarding patient along with images with the Radiologist.
  • Print images onto appropriate media.
  • Provide permanent data of procedures as required or requested.
  • Maintain departmental standards related to Quality Assurance controls.
  • Train new staff on the ultrasound system and department procedures.
  • Practice sterile techniques, maintain aseptic conditions and use universal precautions at all times.
  • Perform first aid on patients until further assistance can be obtained to maintain patient's health.
  • Adhere to on-call, holiday, and weekend schedules as prepared by the manager.
  • Exercise strict patient confidentiality.
  • Ensure adherence to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, KSA and local requirements, and JCIA & CBAHI standards.
  • Provide patient and family education as per the needs.
  • Participate in routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
  • Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
  • Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his knowledge, skills and abilities.

Experience
