Location: Northeast Region near a major airport (e.g., Boston, Southern New Hampshire, Hartford, Southern Connecticut, New York City). May consider qualified applicants from other areas. 100% Remote with nearly 100% domestic travel.

Reports to: Service Manager

Schedule: Monday – Friday, with variable hours including weekends, early mornings, and some evenings

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Compensation: $27 - $46 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer sites to install, maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and printing issues on Koenig & Bauer presses.
  • Interact directly with customers, listen to their needs, ask questions, and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Develop action plans to address customer issues, focusing on quality work (fix it right the first time), efficiency, and cost control.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance, including adjustments, replacements, and troubleshooting on various press components.
  • Install new equipment and components according to blueprints, including base units, inker placement, and auxiliary systems.
  • Conduct thorough audits, identify worn or damaged parts, and prioritize repairs based on safety, quality, and production needs.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using manuals, documentation, and collaboration with team members.
  • Coordinate parts procurement, schedule repairs, and work with customers and internal departments to execute repairs efficiently.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including greeting, informing, and updating customers during service calls.
  • Complete accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent in company systems.
  • Follow all safety policies and customer site procedures.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED; technical education or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in printing, press manufacturing, or industrial maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, internet, and office software.
  • Experience with hand tools and reading electrical schematics and CAD drawings.
