KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES EXPECTED FROM THE ROLE:
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance on all gym
equipment, including cardio machines, strength training devices, and other
fitness apparatus. This includes lubricating parts, adjusting settings, and
checking for wear and tear.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair malfunctioning gym
equipment. Identify issues through physical inspection and testing, determine
necessary repairs, and execute solutions efficiently.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities,
repairs, and parts inventory. Ensure all maintenance records are up-to-date and
accurately reflect the condition of the equipment.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety checks on all equipment to
ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations. Address any
safety concerns immediately and report potential hazards to the Facilities
Manager.
- Equipment Installation: Assist in the installation and setup of new
fitness equipment. Ensure that all equipment is installed according to
manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Member Interaction: Provide assistance and technical support to gym
members regarding the proper use of equipment. Address any member concerns
about equipment functionality or safety.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with equipment vendors and suppliers for
parts ordering and to stay updated on the latest equipment updates and recall
notices.
- Training Staff: Train other maintenance staff and gym employees on basic
equipment maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS:
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required. Technical training or certification in
mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems are highly preferred.
- At least two years of experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in
a gym or similar fitness facility.
