Skills

Job description

Technical Skills:

• Ability to work with UTP and fiber cables (CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, fiber MM, fiber SM).
• Ability to bunch, terminate, and test UTP cables.
• Ability to install trunks, ducts, flex pipes, EMT pipes.
• Experience with equipment such as Fluke, Fusion splicer, Mechanical splicer, OTDR, Power meters, light source.
• Ability to perform fiber optic tests and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of loss and attenuation in fiber optics.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills, especially Excel and internet browsing, with the ability to learn new programs.
• Knowledge of basic electricity related to telecommunications (voltage, current, resistance, power, grounding, insulation, Ohm's Law, AC/DC).
• Experience with electric power measurement instruments (multimeters, Avo meters).
• Working knowledge of hand tools and electric power tools (cable lugs crimper, hot guns, heat shrinks, Hilti, drills).
• Experience in making installations, racking, and stacking equipment (switches, routers, UPSs, indoor/outdoor cameras).

Requirements:

• Ability to work various schedules including normal duty, on-call, overnight, weekends, holidays, and extended travel.
• Ability to work well with others and perform as part of a team.
• Proficiency in English.

Education:

• Applicants must have at least a bachelor's degree or a diploma in a related field.
