Inspect, troubleshoot, service, repair and test a variety of general electronic, navigation and optronic assemblies, subassemblies and/or components (e.g. optical sights, vision devices, compasses and/or night vision devices) used and/or outfitted to heavy vehicles.
Ensure that all general electronic, navigation and optronic assembly, subassembly and/or component maintenance inspections, servicing, rebuilds, overhauls and repairs are accomplished in accordance with all technical manuals, KPIs and OEM specifications.
Perform quality maintenance repairs as part of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System program.
Perform general electronic, navigation and optronic assembly, subassembly and/or component maintenance inspections to determine the extent of repair and spare parts requirements.
Perform general electronic, navigation and optronic assembly, subassembly and/or component troubleshooting using special tools, diagnostic test equipment and/or test benches.
Replace a variety of relays, regulators, switches, diodes, modules, printed circuit boards etc. outfitted to a variety of general electronic, navigation and optronic assemblies, subassemblies and/or components.
Ensure all maintenance order spare parts residue is returned to the Workshop store.
Perform general electronic, navigation and optronic assembly, subassembly and/or component spare parts research to ensure that only required spare parts are requisitioned in the appropriate quantities.
Complete maintenance related documentation such as maintenance tasks accomplished, direct labour hours consumed, vehicle specific information, spare part request forms, etc.
Comply with all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.
Ensure all issued tools, uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is accounted for, maintained and secured.
Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
Support other members of the Workshop in fulfilling their roles.
Perform other duties as directed by the Workshop.
Preferred candidate profile
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
A minimum of five years of experience performing general electronic assembly, subassembly and/or component repair is required.
Previous experience or electrical/electronic training is an advantage.
The ability to interpret complex electrical and/or mechanical schematics is preferred.
Previous experience using state-of-the-art diagnostic testing equipment is an advantage.
Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office software and SAP is preferred.
The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required.
