An exciting opportunity is available at Slagger Company for Technician, E&I based in Jizan.

About the role:

The technician is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the smooth operation of the ilmenite smelter plant's equipment daily, including electrical safety and adherence to safe working practices. They will oversee the upkeep of substations, generators, pumps, and plant instrumentation.

You will be responsible for:

  • Performing routine and basic inspections and maintenance of equipment according to SOPs and instructions from superiors to support integrity and reliability.
  • Carrying out preventive and corrective repairs on assigned equipment across various disciplines.
  • Responding promptly to equipment service requests within maintenance guidelines to ensure timely uptime.
  • Inspecting, renovating, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical equipment.
  • Inspecting, calibrating, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting instrumentation.
  • Reporting any deficiencies in equipment through proper channels.
  • Supporting the operating unit during minor and major turn-around shutdowns and start-up activities to ensure timely completion.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Technology.
  • 6+ years of experience in heavy industries.

Required Skills:

  • Repairing various electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of instrument repair and calibration.
  • Knowledge of HV/MV/LV panel maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of analyzer calibration.
  • Familiarity with load cells, scales, and measurement devices.
  • Ability to identify faults or hazards.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for system failures and rectification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical equipment and instrument maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Safety awareness and responsible work attitude.
  • Analytical problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to work at heights and in cramped spaces.
  • Knowledge of automation and PLC systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and P&ID.
  • Knowledge of field instruments.
  • Experience with HV, MV, LV substation panel maintenance and operation.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
  • Experience in maintaining MCC components, VSDs, cabling, lighting.
  • Experience in repairing and maintaining various instrumentation types (flow, pressure, thermocouples).
  • Experience with control valves, pneumatic networks, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in analyzer calibration and troubleshooting (CO, O2).
