Job description

Job Description Summary

The Technician will be responsible for site installation and commissioning of GIS and AIS switchgear. During the service, GE will provide assignments, projects, and tasks related to his major, allowing him to develop leadership capabilities, communication skills, and familiarize himself with the work environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience in E&C of 230 & 380 KV substations. Knowledge of electrical systems of switchgear equipment.
• Knowledge of GIS & AIS switchgears, electrical panels, MCC, and electrical distribution systems.
• Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical substations.
• Understand and execute repair and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and diagnose equipment issues.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance of substations.
• Maintain back-office reports, test reports, and customer documentation at the site.
• Coordinate with OEM for unresolved repair issues.
• Provide technical assistance for installation or project pre-arrangements.
• Lead or participate as part of a team, allocating responsibilities to the site team.
• Participate in safety, quality, and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Understand safety protocols and perform LOTO operations.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of onsite experience in electrical fields.
• Experience in E&C of 230 & 380 KV substations.
• Knowledge of electrical systems of switchgear equipment.
• Knowledge of GIS & AIS switchgears, electrical panels, MCC, and distribution systems.
• Willingness to relocate within Saudi Arabia as per business needs.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email communication.
• Legal right to work in KSA without sponsorship (KSA nationals preferred).
