Job description

About the Company

Riyadh Air (RX), headquartered in the Saudi Capital, is the new national airline that’s shaping the future of flying. It seeks to lead the aviation industry by transforming Saudi Arabia into a global aviation and trade hub – a digitally native airline that will connect the kingdom to more than 100 destinations.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Technical Writer to join our Technical Publications team. In this role, you will support the maintenance, revision, and distribution of operational manuals and documentation critical to airline safety, efficiency, and compliance. Working in close coordination with various departments and regulatory stakeholders, you will help ensure all digital and print materials are accurate, consistent, and aligned with company policies and aviation regulations.

Your Mission

As a Technical Writer, you will:

  • Create, revise, and publish operational documentation (e.g., GACA-approved manuals, OEM publications) in digital formats such as PDF, HTML, and XML using structured content tools.

  • Manage publication lifecycles—including drafting, reviewing, formatting, and distributing manuals and notices—ensuring consistency and compliance across all platforms.

  • Liaise with internal manual owners to coordinate and approve change requests, ensuring timely and accurate updates.

  • Maintain and update content across digital systems (EFB, DMS portal, SharePoint), ensuring frontline users have access to the most current operational information.

  • Organize and incorporate regulatory notices and OEM bulletins into customized company manuals in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

  • Support safety and operational readiness by issuing essential updates such as Crew Notices and Manual Notices.

  • Take part in safety awareness programs and ensure compliance with health and environmental policies.

What You Bring

Experience & Expertise

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an airline flight operations environment, preferably in technical documentation or publication roles.

  • Proficiency in aviation documentation platforms (e.g., FlySmart suite, Orlando DMS).

  • Solid knowledge of structured content authoring tools (XML, SGML, ArborText, FrameMaker, WYSIWYG) and digital formats (HTML, PDF).

  • Strong familiarity with document distribution systems and tools such as SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, MS Office, and Visio.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma required; university degree preferred.

  • Training or certification in technical writing, document control, or aviation systems is a plus.

Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.

  • Excellent computer literacy and attention to detail.

  • Solid understanding of document control processes and aviation technical publication standards.

Why This Role Matters

As a Technical Writer, you ensure that the backbone of our operational procedures—our manuals and publications—remains accurate, accessible, and up to date. Your contributions directly support regulatory compliance, crew safety, and operational excellence.
