Job Description: We are seeking a proactive Technical Team Leader to join our dynamic team.
The Interior Design Technical Team Leader with a specialization in Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and supplier management is a senior position within an interior design. This role is responsible for leading a team of technical draftsmen and collaborating with suppliers to create detailed BOQs, oversee procurement processes, and ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and furnishings for interior design projects. The Technical Team Leader plays a crucial role in project cost control and procurement management.
Responsibilities:
- TEAM LEADERSHIP: Lead and manage a team of technical draftsmen and CAD operators. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to the team, emphasizing the importance of precision and attention to detail in creating BOQs and technical drawings.
- BILL OF QUANTITIES (BOQ) CREATION: Develop detailed BOQs that list all materials, quantities, and specifications required for projects. Collaborate with project managers, interior designers, and architects to ensure that the BOQ aligns with project objectives.
- SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors. Request and compare quotes, negotiate pricing, and select the most suitable suppliers based on project requirements and budget constraints.
- PROCUREMENT: Coordinate the procurement process, including issuing purchase orders, tracking orders, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and furnishings. Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed to avoid project delays.
- QUALITY ASSURANCE: Review and approve BOQs, purchase orders, and supplier contracts for accuracy and compliance with project specifications. Implement quality control measures to maintain the quality of materials and furnishings.
- COST CONTROL: Work with the project management team to optimize designs for cost efficiency while adhering to the design vision. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions.
- DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING: Maintain organized project documentation related to BOQs, procurement, and supplier communications. Generate regular reports to track project expenditures, timelines, and procurement progress.
- COMMUNICATION: Facilitate effective communication with the project team, suppliers, and contractors to ensure the seamless flow of information. Address any issues or concerns related to procurement and material delivery.
