Role Purpose
Responsible for managing all activities and personnel in the Field Service Department. Ensures quality and delivery requirements are met. Ensures compliance with safety rules, company policies, and practices.
Job Accountabilities & Activities
- Lead and manage all functions, activities, and personnel within the Field Service department, ensuring operational excellence across all service areas.
- Oversee the disassembly, inspection, assembly, troubleshooting, and testing of rotating equipment, maintaining high standards of technical execution.
- Provide accurate estimates for field service requirements to support quotation and proposal development.
- Evaluate component conditions to determine suitability for reuse or repair in field operations.
- Plan and schedule workflow to meet deadlines, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
- Manage and authorize overtime as necessary to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain responsibility for departmental budgets, cost control, and financial performance.
- Monitor and drive improvements in quality metrics, including reduction of scrap, rework, and returns.
- Approve material purchases aligned with project and operational needs.
- Select, train, and motivate department staff, addressing performance management and development requirements.
- Enforce compliance with safety protocols and ensure all employees receive appropriate training on equipment use and procedures.
- Oversee the functionality and safety of shop equipment, ensuring necessary safety guards are in place.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures within the pump shop environment.
- Facilitate technical training and skill development for department personnel.
- Drive continuous improvement in on-site customer service delivery and satisfaction.
- Design and develop specialized tools and product/tooling sketches as required to support service activities.
- Ensure timely attendance and reliability of team members.
- Achieve and maintain a record of zero lost-time accidents.
- Identify and implement initiatives to reduce operational costs, waste, and scrap.
Education & Certifications
Required Years of Experience
Extensive experience in Field Service activities is essential, minimum 8 years of experience.
