A leading hotel chain in Saudi Arabia is looking for a skilled tailor to manage the mending of uniforms and linens. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury setting and possess the necessary service certificates. The role includes ensuring work quality, maintaining supplies, and providing exceptional service to guests and staff alike.
Be responsible for mending all uniforms, room & F&B linen, guest laundry of the Hotel.
Ensure the work quality up to standard.
Be aware of the daily hotel activities and have product knowledge of all hotel facilities.
Attend daily briefings of Linen room staff.
Repair guest clothes on request and ensure the clothes are delivered back to the guest on time.
Maintain sufficient stock levels of materials needed.
Keep work area clean and organized.
Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of sewing machines.
Maintain personal grooming standards.
Comply with Hotel Safety, Hygiene, and Fire policies.
Perform related duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Ensure punctuality, attendance, and courteous attitude.
Be fully aware of the Talk of the Walk for the day.
Practice proper grooming at all times.
Show cooperation and respect within the team and other departments.
Participate in cross-training to create backup for emergencies (staff sick leave, annual leave).
Attend communication meetings of the section.
Assist the linen room by issuing uniforms to staff. Upon receiving a uniform request from HR, provide the new employee with proper uniform and explain the exchange policy.
Place uniform request forms in a proper file according to the department heading.
Attend to guest laundry requiring simple mending immediately (sewing buttons, seams).
In case of a lost uniform, the employee must get a new issue form from HR, raise a Lost and Damage report signed by the employee, and submit it to the Executive Housekeeper.
If any employee abuses their uniform, report to the Linen & Uniform Room Supervisor.
At the end of each shift, communicate all necessary information to the next shift for smooth operations.
Inform the Linen & Uniform Room Supervisor of any defects or damages to furniture or equipment immediately.
Before sending items to laundry, check for missing buttons or torn areas and address these issues beforehand.
Keep all equipment and the uniform room store area clean after work each day.
Separate linen, uniforms, and curtains to be condemned from those to be repaired.
Provide efficient and courteous service to guests.
Qualifications
Obtain relevant service certificates or recommendation letters proving craft skills as a tailor. Minimum 3 years in a similar role, preferably with a five-star hotel.
