Job Summary



In support of this growth, we are looking for a Systems Management Specialist to help us implement and support our managed application environments.
The role will provide technical support during implementation and ongoing support of our hosted and managed applications.

Responsibilities



Support the process of deploying TrakCare build/releases/patches in accordance with agreed processes and procedures. Ensure that service level metrics are monitored, reviewed, and reported on regularly, and that necessary steps are taken to resolve any issues or negative trends. Ensure operational acceptance criteria for solutions handed over from delivery teams are met during the hand-over process. Provide technical support for all hosted services; ensure timely resolution of incidents or problems affecting hosted solutions and deploy approved changes and updates as required. Hands-on administration and maintenance of hosted servers and related infrastructure (firewalls, switches, storage, etc.), including proactive incident prevention. Track server-related issues, troubleshoot and remedy hardware problems, and manage RMA processes with vendors. Provide technical support for troubleshooting and performance analysis of implementations. Support and test internal and external utilities such as patching tools and print services. Monitor and respond to technical team calls via the TRC logging system. Assist presales with technical requests such as architecture, configuration, and hardware sizing. Produce technical documentation including system administration guides, installation instructions, user guides, knowledge-base articles, and how-to’s. Participate in on-site technical training if required. Take responsibility for scripting, maintenance, and verification of backups.

Experience & Qualifications



Proven knowledge and experience in Linux server administration and shell scripting. Experience with VMware vSphere 6.5, including vCenter configuration and administration. Familiarity with service monitoring and alerting tools (Nagios preferred). Recent experience supporting 24x7 production services. Strong troubleshooting skills. Primary server administration, including installations, upgrades, and maintenance. Ability to create documentation for support and coordinate service handover. Experience building servers to standards ensuring reliability and redundancy. Ability to develop implementation plans and change records. Support for service projects during development phases. Collaboration with technical teams for successful testing and deployment. Experience with installing, configuring, and managing InterSystems Caché Databases and scripting in Caché.
Additional valuable skills include network knowledge (layers 2 and 3), experience with Avamar & DataDomain, Cisco UCS blade server infrastructure, load balancing (F5 Big-IP), configuration management tools (Puppet or Chef), scripting skills (Perl, Python), VMWare certifications (VCP), and ServiceNow.
