Overview

Are you a highly skilled IT professional looking for a challenging position with a variety of responsibilities? We have an opening that will allow you to utilize your technical expertise in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a member of the systems services administration team
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for our Windows, macOS, and Linux environments on physical servers as well as cloud and VMware environments
  • Troubleshoot and repair desktop technologies, printers, handheld devices, and audio/video equipment
  • Procure software and hardware from local vendors
  • Support general system administration duties
  • Establish/recommend policies on system use and services
  • Develop and implement automation solutions for routine and repetitive tasks
  • Collaborate with IT teams to define and develop documented policies, procedures, and processes, such as operational run books and system monitoring
  • Make presentations to executive team, customers, client audiences, and professional peers
  • Support regional events and trainings
  • Regular travel to additional Esri offices

Requirements

  • 3+ years of systems administrative experience
  • Operational level knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux administration and engineering
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience working with VMware
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with platform hardware and OS level support
  • Ability to diagnose hardware/OS problems and to optimize system setups for complex application environments
  • Ability to program in an administrative language (such as Perl, Python, Ruby, Powershell)
  • Understanding of enterprise class SAN, NAS, and backup technologies
  • Understanding of load balancing, clustering, and name lookup (DNS) and troubleshooting skills in these areas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with management
  • Capable of writing proposals, procedures, policies, and technical documentation
  • Professional command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Certification in AWS, VMware, MS (MCSE), Linux
  • Hardware experience: Dell, Cisco, NetApp
  • Experience in vendor product evaluation (hardware, software, service providers)
  • Operational knowledge of Amazon Web Services and its major components (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and more)
  • Operational level knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud
