Core Responsibilities:
- System Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain retail-specific IT systems, including point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management systems, and e-commerce platforms.
- System Administration: Manage and maintain internal servers, storage solutions, and operating systems, ensuring high availability and security across all retail locations.
- Security Management: Implement and monitor security measures to safeguard systems, including data encryption, firewalls, antivirus software, and other security protocols to protect customer and business data.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support for retail staff at all levels, troubleshooting issues related to hardware, software, and system access for both in-store systems and e-commerce platforms.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure the business can recover from system outages and data loss in a timely manner.
- System Upgrades & Patches: Regularly update systems, software, and hardware to maintain optimal performance and ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
- Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor system performance and provide proactive solutions to improve speed, uptime, and efficiency across all retail channels.
- Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with other departments to ensure technology supports the broader business goals. Provide regular reports on system status and performance to management.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in system administration, ideally within the retail sector or similar environments.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in managing POS systems and retail-specific technologies.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Microsoft Azure) and virtualization platforms.
- Strong understanding of IT security best practices, including data protection regulations (such as GDPR).
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently with minimal downtime for retail operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions to non-technical staff and management.
- A proactive approach to ensuring that retail technology systems are running smoothly to ensure seamless customer experiences.

- CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
