Job description

Job Responsibilities:

1. Instruct group and private swimming lessons.
2. Evaluate participant swimming ability and determine correct swim level.
3. Create an educational, safe, and inviting experience for participants.
4. Be available as needed to discuss the participant’s course evaluation with the parents/guardians and/or participants.
5. Punctually meet all scheduled class times, fully prepared to teach.
6. Attend all staff and evaluation meetings as requested.
7. Adhere to and enforce all the policies and procedures.
8. Complete all necessary planning and paperwork inherent to the class.
9. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
10. Complete all Incident and Accident reports as necessary.
11. Responsible for offering outstanding customer service.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

1. Previous swim instruction teaching experience or willingness to participate in training.
2. Current American Red Cross CPR, AED, First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
3. Ability to complete all paperwork, lesson plans, etc. necessary for successful course completion.
4. Ability to appropriately manage class participants and parent/guardian communication.
5. Knowledge to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations.
6. Ability to perform all American Red Cross skills as trained.
7. Ability to thrive in an environment that values high expectations, accountability, and balanced lifestyles.
8. Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate with peers.
9. Ability to work as part of a professional team that collaborates effectively with colleagues.
10. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
