Job description

An exciting opportunity to join one of Red Sea Global's subsidiaries, contributing to a dynamic and ever-evolving supply chain while making a meaningful impact on the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

Job Purpose:

As Manager - Compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company is conducting its freight business in full compliance with all national and international shipping laws, including all documents (SFDA, SASO, etc.) for regulations. This will involve the creation, review, and implementation of sea freight and airfreight documents and procedures in line with best practices within the freight industry.

Engaging with regional teams for shipping and determining the required documents for each shipping term. Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations and address KPIs.

Job Responsibilities:

Supply Chain and Logistics. The Compliance Manager is responsible for:

  • Risk Management: Identifying and assessing potential compliance risks within the company's operations and implementing appropriate measures to mitigate those risks. This may involve developing and maintaining compliance policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and implementing internal controls.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Overseeing the accurate and timely completion of all required documentation, including shipping manifests, customs clearance forms, and import/export documents. This includes maintaining proper record-keeping practices to ensure compliance with audit and legal requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the company adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and customs requirements in each country of operation. This involves staying up to date with changing regulations, obtaining necessary licenses and permits, and ensuring all employees are trained on compliance procedures.
  • Training and Education: Conducting compliance training programs for employees to ensure they understand and follow all applicable compliance requirements. This includes educating employees on relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations and laws for all shipments and transportation activities.
  • Developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Conducting regular internal audits to identify any potential compliance issues and taking appropriate corrective actions.
  • Providing training and guidance to staff members on compliance matters, including customs regulations, trade agreements, and transportation security protocols.
  • Liaising with government agencies, such as customs and border protection, to maintain a good working relationship and stay updated on any regulatory changes.

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

  • Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Apply safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services, and a responsible environmental attitude.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department’s systems, processes, and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Recognized degree in Business, Analytics, or Data Management related field (MBA preferred).
  • A minimum of 9 to 10 years' experience as a compliance manager or in a similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping industry processes and regulations.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • An analytical mindset with excellent organizational skills.
