- Coordinate with other Security Shift Supervisors to ensure effective implementation of the integrated security plan.
- Plans and maintains the duty shift roster for security men to always ensure effective coverage of the facility and its premises.
- Monitor shift activities and investigate any security incidents, reported incidents, complaints or other problems during the shifts.
- Ensures all security men on his shift are familiar with the security plan, standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures and all other relevant policies and procedures. Ensures all security staff are duly trained to operate security systems and equipment such as alarm systems, CCTV and communication systems.
- Supervise and monitor work carried out by assigned Security Men, ensuring effective access control and surveillance of the facility and the premises.
- Ensures the execution of the security procedures and work orders.
- Plan and manage the security men work schedules to ensure adequate coverage during assigned shifts. Monitors effective shift hand-over ensuring that all activities and any special problems or incidents during the shift have been logged and reported, including the condition of various security equipment and surveillance systems.
- Assigns the security men to security points and schedule security patrol duties. Monitors access control and security checks for people and vehicles at all gates, which may include the checking of identity cards, vehicle access permits, briefcases and vehicles to ensure that all staff, visitors and contractors entering and leaving the premises are in possession of appropriate passes.
- Perform security inspections, audits and surveys as assigned by the Industrial Security Superintendent.
- Oversees and participates in security patrols, surveillance, and search activities covering the tour of facilities. Monitors the performance of patrol security checks, identifying, investigating and reporting unexplained objects, and potential or actual safety hazards, and taking the appropriate actions as per security procedures.
- Conducts random checks to ensure effectiveness of security controls.
- Takes necessary actions to control security incidents occurring during the shift in accordance with the Security Plan and Emergency Response Plan. Responds promptly to any alarm signals, obtains full information from the security man, Fire Warden or Security Control Room operator about the incidents, and investigates. Informs the Industrial Security Superintendent in the event of any incidents. Prepares and submit the full report to the Industrial Security Superintendent for review
- Organizes and participate in the personal escort of High-Risk material, VIP staff and visitors as required.
- Supervises vehicle parking areas to ensure compliance with the premises traffic rules. Regulates and controls the flow of traffic and speed limit for all vehicles traveling within the premises. Monitors the registration number of illegally parked vehicles as reported by security men and implement action.
- Responds to security and emergency cases. Investigates and participates in emergency response procedures as determined by the Emergency Response Plan. Provide support to external ER staff
- Ensures security men wear company uniforms and always appear neat and tidy. Monitors and maintains physical and working condition of security equipment including barriers, lightings, alarms systems, CCTV and communications systems. Report any deficiencies to the Industrial Security Superintendent for action.
- Train security men on the security procedures, work orders and emergency response procedures. Provides on the job and in post training and guidance to the security men.
- Provides recommendations to the Supervisor with regards to improving security measures, systems and procedures. Briefs security men on changes in policies, procedures and regulations or any temporary security measures.
Educational Requirements / Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree(4yrs) in any relevant discipline and 7 years of relevant security experience
- Verbal and written communication in English language must be on an advanced level.
- Qualified and skilled in MS Office applications
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 or 15 years (depending on the level of education as stated above) of security experience in an industrial environment
- Eight (8) years security experience on supervisor level, preferably in oil/gas/mining/petrochemical water industry.
- Previous military/law enforcement experience would be an advantage
COMPETENCIES:
- Security systems and security service provider sourcing.
- Basic administration, record keeping and reporting.
- Basic procedures on procurement and budget control
