A leading company in power generation is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance activities related to steam turbine generators and related facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational reliability, managing maintenance tasks, and leading a team of maintenance personnel. The position requires a mechanical engineering degree and extensive supervisory experience in a power generation environment, along with strong project management skills.
Job Purpose
To supervise the mechanical maintenance activities in area of steam turbine generators, boiler, fuel facility and BOP in the plant with the objective of increasing unit efficiency, reliability, availability, and maintainability in both Yanbu I & Yanbu II.
Key Duties & Responsibility
1. Participate in daily PDR meeting, as well as weekly planning and scheduling meeting, to plan maintenance activities in proactive manner.
2. Supervise and follow-up implementation of preventive maintenance works on the STG units, and fuel facilities in the plant as per manufacturer/RCM/RBI recommendations to ensure unit availability and maintainability.
3. Prioritize, supervise and follow-up implementation of corrective maintenance works for the power units in the plant as per manufacturers’ recommendations to ensure unit availability and maintainability.
4. Conduct technical evaluations of material offers from vendors to ensure they meet original/required specifications.
5. Ensure material availability for all types of outages to guarantee reliability of plant operation.
6. Ensure material, equipment and spare parts availability for all types of overhauls and maintenance works to ensure reliability of operation.
7. Ensure the availability of all special tools, consumables and PPE’s required to perform the job.
8. Analyze and diagnose technical problems, such as abnormal sound, vibration, overheating, discoloration, worn out, leaking/passing, misalignment and unbalancing, determining possible remedial action and actively working to resolve these issues.
9. Create and review preventive maintenance tasks in reference to manufacturing recommendation or reliability procedure.
10. Supervise execution for approved minor CAPEX.
11. Organize and supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of maintenance activity is carried out in an efficient manner, and consistent with operating procedures and policy.
12. Prepare safety incidents and maintenance reports relating to major outages, abnormalities, major equipment history, safety and maintenance history in order to monitor all these parameters, ensuring deviations are rectified and maintenance proceeds as per plan and complies with Marafiq standards.
13. Monitor the financial performance of a given area of activity versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly, with potential performance improvement opportunities capitalized upon.
14. Recommend improvements to departmental procedure and direct the implementation of instructions and controls covering a specific area of maintenance activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
15. Coach and provide guidance to subordinate foremen and staff to ensure increased capabilities and maximized output.
16. Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of maintenance activity to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
