Job description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:




  • Involves having control and verification systems in place

  • Performing basic physical protection planning in terms of access control, patrolling, CCTV surveillance, etc.

  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to organizational assets.

  • Managing user access to systems and data, ensuring appropriate permissions.

  • Investigation and report writing

  • Continuously monitoring systems and conducting audits to detect vulnerabilities.

  • Ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and standards.


Operational / Functional




  • Coordinate and submit all logistical requirements for the security staff to the Specialist Security Services. Implement and monitor a maintenance and replacement program for all security equipment including barriers, lightings, alarms systems, CCTV and communications systems to ensure continuity of the Integrated Security Plan.

  • Submit annual budget and maintenance requirements to Specialist Security Services for processing.

  • Implement a formal, informal and on the job training program for all security staff to ensure that all staff is duly trained to operate security systems and equipment. Integrate this training with the formal Career Development Plan for security staff.

  • Provides recommendations to the Security Manager with regards to improving security measures, systems and procedures. Briefs security staff on changes in policies, procedures and regulations or any temporary or adhoc security measures.

  • Ensures security awareness of employees and visitors in accordance with the Security Awareness Program.

  • Review and monitor operational processes for accuracy, completeness, and efficiency, including but not limited to estimating, purchasing, invoicing, warehousing, scheduling and reporting.

  • Develop, design and implement security process improvements as required to bring processes up to effective levels.

  • manage all aspects of commercial types of systems including, radio, security, access control, CCTV.

  • Monitor security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control) to ensure functionality and effectiveness.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes and regulations.

  • Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.

  • Collaborate with management to develop risk mitigation strategies.

  • Work closely with other departments, law enforcement, and external security agencies to enhance overall security posture.

  • Participate in safety and security committees as needed.
