Responsibilities
Work with the Head of the Civil and Structural Department and senior design engineers and CAD operators on structural analysis and design for low, medium and high rise buildings and other structures from concept stage to issuing construction documents.
Model structures computationally, prepare design calculations, specifications and outline drawings directly on AutoCAD.
Supervise and check the work of CAD operators and coordinate with other design disciplines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and 4 to 8 years of experience in the design of building structures, some of which should preferably have been gained in the Middle East.
Thorough knowledge of structural systems, design methods and materials, with experience in the analysis and design of structural frames and foundations.
Familiarity with appropriate international codes of practice for structural analysis and design, and with proprietary structural design software, including ETABS, SAFE and SAP.
High level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to prepare drawings using AutoCAD is advantageous.
