The Strategic & Operations Lead KSA & Gulf Countries will report to the KSA & Gulf General Manager and will be part of the KSA & Gulf Executive committee. This role includes meetings coordination and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, synergies, and appropriate resource allocations. It will also play a key role in maximizing the effectiveness of activities undertaken by BMS through strong business intelligence (i.e. market research for new products) and training programs.
This position will be accountable for identifying unmet medical needs with respect to the products, ensuring innovative products are available to meet those needs, and setting the overall direction to meet the needs of patients, families, healthcare professionals, and regulators across KSA & Gulf Countries.
This role will handle the relationship with distributors in KSA & Gulf Countries MEA and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the effectiveness & quality of the services provided by the Distributor.
Ensure full compliance with laws, regulations, and BMS Standards of Business Conduct and Ethics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for relationships with distributors in KSA & Gulf Countries, ensuring contracts are up to date and the required services provided as agreed.
- Main Point contact / escalation for distributors for operational, contract-related concerns, ensuring that BMS business is carried out in a compliant and effective way, including the implementation of BMS 3rd party processes including due diligence coordination and governance.
- Provide input and ensure seamless planning of budgeting and projection/updates cycles.
- Interact and build strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders, providing a strong voice in the KSA & Gulf Countries Executive Committee.
- Drive deployment of innovative customer engagement tools, develop and implement Multi-channel & digital strategy.
- Act as a strong and active contributor at Executive Committee forum to support shaping the present and the future of the organization.
- Ensure project management / coordinate key events addressing customers.
- Manage cross-functional projects to support integrated business strategies & execution, develop and implement successful strategies to support commercial performance.
- Implement Business Excellence Framework.
- Ensure full deployment and effective usage of Veeva / Interact and New Commercialization Model across KSA & Gulf Countries.
- Ability to identify critical business opportunities and effectiveness needs, develop and implement effective strategies that drive BioPharma performance and long-term growth and productivity priorities.
Role Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a Pharmaceutical / Medical field. Business School degree or MBA is preferred.
Experience and Knowledge:
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Fluent in Arabic and English required.
- Proven history of seeking out new information and learning quickly - agility to absorb new concepts, analyze data, and ask insightful questions to make effective decisions.
- Ability to "flex" across different types of cultures, complexities, business situations, and matrix partners.
- Demonstrated track record of success in commercialization of product(s) with high integrity while focusing on execution.
- In-depth knowledge of local sales, marketing, and business processes in the pharmaceutical industry and ability to analyze complex business issues.
- Success in effectively communicating and influencing decisions with senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully and effectively collaborate and work across boundaries and build strong external relationships.
- Good knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, broad and in-depth understanding of the healthcare system.
- Strong project management, analytical, and forecasting skills.
- Demonstrated use of communication and change management strategies/tactics to influence new ways of thinking and working.
- Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to create energy and excitement.
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent command of oral and written English and Arabic.
