We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Stewarding Supervisor to join our team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As a Stewarding Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in our food and beverage operations. This position requires a professional individual who can lead a team of stewards while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a team of stewards, planning rosters and shifts to meet business demands
- Oversee the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils
- Implement and maintain hygiene and food safety standards in compliance with HACCP principles and local regulations
- Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to support smooth operations
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stock levels
- Train and develop stewards in proper cleaning techniques and safety procedures
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness of storage areas, including proper organization of equipment and supplies
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to cleanliness and safety standards
- Collaborate with other departments to address any issues related to stewarding operations
- Implement and monitor pest control procedures
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
- Respond promptly to any emergency situations related to hygiene or safety
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Stewarding Supervisor or in a similar role within the hospitality industry
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and HACCP principles
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Proficient in planning rosters, managing shifts, and coordinating team activities
- Knowledge of cleaning processes and proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in line with organizational policies
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business demands and work schedules
- Familiarity with inventory management and record-keeping
- Physical stamina to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in food safety or hospitality management are preferred
