Job Purpose

Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, submission, and compliance of all mandatory financial reports required by regulatory bodies. Review the financial statements of all SEs to facilitate the preparation of consolidated financial reports, ensuring adherence to local regulations, international financial reporting standards, and statutory requirements at local, national, and international levels. This process is crucial for achieving NDF's credit rating and its transition to a Development Finance Institution (DFI).

Functional Accountabilities

  1. Optimize the use of personal time/effort and assigned work tools/resources in carrying out duties, ensuring work meets standards for timeliness and quality.
  2. Review statutory yearly, mid-year, quarterly financial statements, management accounts, and other financial reports submitted by supervised entities.
  3. Support in collecting financial reports from each fund throughout the year and conduct periodic in-depth financial analysis.
  4. Review the financial policies and procedures of supervised entities and report findings.
  5. Support in identifying issues and risks based on financial reviews and analysis, advising on corrective or mitigation actions.
  6. Review and validate period-end closing balances and budget line items, obtaining necessary approval from the NDF Board before submission to external authorities.
  7. Review the ECL methodology of supervised entities for compliance with IFRS standards and accurate reflection in financial statements.
  8. Ensure the accurate and complete implementation of IFRS standards across supervised entities.
  9. Review the future consolidation of SEs' financial statements into NDF.

Continuous Improvement

  1. Collaborate with the Funds Review Team on ad-hoc financial audits and establish communication channels with management in SEs.
  2. Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet department standards.
  3. Maintain confidentiality of accessed information.
  4. Adhere fully to all regulations and control functions within NDF to ensure effective governance, audit, risk, and compliance processes.

Qualifications (Education & Certifications)

Essential: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields.

Preferred (in addition to minimum): Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields.

Experience

Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in a Big 4 auditing firm, focusing on statutory reporting and auditing financial statements of financial institutions.
