Summary
Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, in close collaboration with medical and other healthcare team members demonstrates advanced nursing knowledge and applies this knowledge to the assessment, diagnosis, delivery and design of nursing care and interventions in the Pediatric Clinic. Function under a collaborative management model where Medicine and Nursing jointly participate in decisions.
Education/Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum Two (2) years of clinical experience post qualification
- Minimum One (1) year in Pediatric Clinic
License:
Current and in good Standing Nursing License/Registration (RN) to practice in country of residence
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate advanced nursing knowledge and clinical competence in the Pediatric Unit.
- Act as an advisor and resource person within the Pediatric Unit.
- Work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team within the remit of the Registered Nurse (RN) license to provide advanced nursing care, including nurse-led initiatives and clinics.
- Act as an advisor and resource person for current evidence-based pediatric nursing practices.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills with pediatric patients, their families, and all members of the healthcare team.
- Function as a patient and family advocate, safeguarding the rights and wellbeing of pediatric patients.
- Maintain documentation and record keeping that verify activities according to department and hospital guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of all records, reports, and results related to pediatric patient care.
- Act as an expert educational resource for clinical staff and actively participate in teaching and mentoring of nursing and multidisciplinary team members in pediatric care.
- Participate in research activities and ensure dissemination of relevant research and best practice guidelines in pediatric nursing.
- Assess patient and family educational needs, readiness to learn, and discharge planning needs, utilizing appropriate pediatric resources.
- Demonstrate respect, compassion, and cultural sensitivity toward pediatric patients, families, colleagues, students, and faculty.
- Advocate for excellence in pediatric patient care and the protection of children’s rights in healthcare settings.
- Lead and participate in the development of nursing initiatives or educational programs aimed at improving pediatric patient quality and experience.
- Undertake clinical audits and clinical research that contribute to the development of knowledge and enhancement of pediatric nursing practice.
- Comply with and participate in Quality Improvement Projects and activities focused on pediatric care.
- Maintain infection control measures appropriate to pediatric patient populations.
- Participate in the evaluation of systems and programs to maximize pediatric patient outcomes and cost-effectiveness.
- Make recommendations for changes based on evidence-based practice and pediatric clinical guidelines.
- Lead, develop, and review policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines specific to pediatric nursing, and provide recommendations for system development.
- Serve as a professional role model, consultant, and educator in pediatric nursing.
- Develop and utilize professional collegial networking with hospital employees, students, and faculty engaged in pediatric care.
- Assume responsibility for own actions, decisions, and behaviors in all pediatric nursing activities.
- Demonstrate initiative in the performance of pediatric nursing duties requiring minimal supervision or guidance.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned in the Pediatric Unit.
