Job Purpose / Objective


Assuming responsibility and accountability for a specific assigned clinic/area by collaborating with team members to ensure patients receive the expected care and services. The OPD Nurse acts as a liaison, facilitating collaboration between physicians, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members or other department staff.


Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities


  • Ensure the readiness and cleanliness of the clinic/assigned area, including supplies, daily.
  • Assist physicians in examining patients.
  • Receive calls, provide clarifications, and respond as needed.
  • Organize patient flow to and from the clinic.
  • Ensure all required documents (claims, referrals, etc.) are completed.
  • Track patient status and provide assistance as needed.
  • Coordinate with labs, radiology, and other departments.
  • Check and document vital signs according to policy.
  • Report any findings or observations to the treating doctors immediately.
  • Carry out doctor’s orders promptly.
  • Process admissions and referrals accurately and timely.
  • Provide education to patients and families based on their needs.
  • Adhere to nursing documentation policies.
  • Initiate emergency and resuscitative measures when necessary.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Maintain mandatory, general, and specific competencies as per the approved competency matrix.
  • Adhere to JCIA/CBAHI standards.
  • Participate in departmental education and training activities.
  • Attend department meetings.
  • Follow infection control principles.
  • Adhere to HMG nursing dress code policy.
  • Operate department machinery and equipment.
  • Provide supervision and support during assigned shifts, especially when acting as shift in-charge, to ensure tasks are completed on time.
  • Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
  • Enhance patient experience with compassion, respect, and dignity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse within their knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Education / Professional Qualification


Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent


3-year General Nursing Diploma

Experience


Preferably with some hospital experience

Professional Licensing / Certification / Training


  • BLS and relevant certificates
  • Valid Saudi Council license and licensing from the country of origin
