Job description

Advanced Smelting Industries Co. (ASIC), which is equally owned by Tasnee, offers an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technician Shift Maintenance based in KSA. The role reports directly to the Workshop Superintendent.

Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Technician Shift Maintenance to perform and determine maintenance activities on company assets. The role involves working independently on shift, reporting to a day-shift Superintendent, and authorizing initial reviews and sign-offs on completed tasks via the IT system. The technician may also assist Stage A technicians to ensure tasks meet quality and HSE standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create and maintain a productive working environment.
  • Prioritize safety in all work aspects.
  • Escalate issues that are invalid or costly.
  • Review work plans and coordinate with supervisors, planners, and stores.
  • Monitor and commission plant systems.
  • Improve job estimates and scheduling through feedback.
  • Ensure timely submission of work completion and comments.
  • Provide accurate job estimates based on skills and sequence.
  • Collaborate to solve complex problems with various departments and suppliers.
  • Maintain expertise in conveyor belt maintenance, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, shaft alignment, and bearing assembly.
  • Manage breakdown jobs and inventory for continued operations.
  • Perform diagnostics and complex repairs on plant equipment.
  • Report activities and deficiencies promptly, supporting on-call and contract technicians.
  • Contribute to training and ensure equipment lubrication knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Millwright diploma (3-year tertiary program in Mechanical and Electrical).
  • At least 10 years of relevant heavy industry experience, preferably in smelting.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong team collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Extensive PLC (Siemens), electrical, and mechanical equipment knowledge.
  • Good organizational, planning, and instruction-writing skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, P&ID, and process drawings.
  • Understanding of maintenance processes, work order systems, and storeroom procedures.
  • Physical fitness, safety awareness, and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
