Job description

Advanced Smelting Industries Co. (ASIC), which is equally owned by Tasnee, offers an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technician Shift Maintenance based in KSA. The successful candidate will report directly to the Workshop Superintendent.

Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Technician Shift Maintenance who will perform and determine maintenance activities on company assets. This role works on shift (largely independently), reports to a day-shift Superintendent, and is authorized to conduct initial reviews and sign off on completed tasks using the related IT system. The technician may also be assisted by Stage A technicians to facilitate task completion according to defined quality and HSE standards.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Create and maintain a working environment that promotes excellence.
  2. Approach all work with safety as the highest priority.
  3. Escalate issues to superiors when work appears invalid or costly.
  4. Review work to be performed and determine the best approach, consulting with Supervisors, Planners, and Stores as necessary.
  5. Monitor and commission plant systems.
  6. Improve job estimates, planning, and scheduling based on feedback from relevant departments.
  7. Follow up to ensure timely submission of work completion reports with improvement comments.
  8. Provide job estimates based on required skills and sequence.
  9. Collaborate with production, sub-contractors, suppliers, and customers to solve complex problems.
  10. Maintain expertise in conveyor belt maintenance and misalignment tracking.
  11. Manage work control status and backlog from submission to completion.
  12. Verify availability of materials, tools, and labor before starting work.
  13. Possess good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems for troubleshooting.
  14. Experience in shaft alignment, bearing assembly/dismantling, and lubrication.
  15. Manage and attend to breakdown jobs independently during shifts.
  16. Maintain inventory of essential non-stock items.
  17. Perform diagnostics and conduct complex maintenance tasks on plant equipment.
  18. Document activities during shifts in logs and SAP.
  19. Respond promptly to on-call requests to ensure uptime.
  20. Report equipment deficiencies and support Stage A technicians as delegated.
  21. Monitor and control contract technicians and craftsmen for maintenance activities.
  22. Contribute to training departmental trainees to build future competencies.
  23. Possess good knowledge of lubrication systems, including oil and filter changes.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Millwright (3-year tertiary diploma in Mechanical and Electrical)
  • 10 years of relevant heavy industry experience, preferably in smelting industry.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Facilitate team collaboration, provide visibility and solutions.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Extensive PLC (Siemens), electrical, and mechanical equipment knowledge.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, P&ID, and process drawings.
  • Knowledge of maintenance processes, work order systems, planning, and storeroom procedures.
  • Experience in building and repairing electrical equipment.
  • Ability to work in shifts, at heights, and in cramped spaces.
  • Good physical condition and safety awareness.
  • Knowledge of field instruments and independent breakdown response skills.
