Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of automotive engineering experience in Interiors, Exteriors, Vehicle Integration, Manufacturing, Quality, or Launch Engineering.
• Strong understanding of automotive products, manufacturing processes, and engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, or similar tools.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensional reports, and technical data.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead launch and production support activities for vehicle interior and exterior systems.
• Support prototype, pilot, pre-production, and Start of Production (SOP) builds.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality, fit and finish, gap and flush, craftsmanship, manufacturing, and supplier-related issues.
• Partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality, Program Management, and Design Engineering teams to ensure successful vehicle launches.
• Track, prioritize, and drive closure of launch issues while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Support process improvements focused on quality, cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
• Act as the on-site engineering representative during critical launch activities and production escalations.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly Sr. Launch Engineer to support vehicle launch, production ramp-up, and ongoing manufacturing operations. This role serves as the primary link between Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers, and Program Management to ensure interior and exterior systems are delivered with exceptional quality, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineer with strong technical expertise, exceptional problem‑solving skills, and a passion for execution. This position requires a high level of ownership, resilience, and willingness to go above and beyond to resolve issues and achieve program milestones.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead launch and production support activities for vehicle interior and exterior systems.
• Support prototype, pilot, pre‑production, and Start of Production (SOP) builds.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality, fit and finish, gap and flush, craftsmanship, manufacturing, and supplier‑related issues.
• Partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality, Program Management, and Design Engineering teams to ensure successful vehicle launches.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of automotive engineering experience in Interiors, Exteriors, Vehicle Integration, Manufacturing, Quality, or Launch Engineering.
• Strong understanding of automotive products, manufacturing processes, and engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with structured problem‑solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, or similar tools.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensional reports, and technical data.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting vehicle launches, pilot builds, or manufacturing ramp‑ups.
• Experience in development and launching systems in interior or exterior systems (concept to launch).
• Technical expertise in automotive interior and/or exterior systems.
• Experience working directly with suppliers, manufacturing plants, and cross‑functional engineering teams.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and automotive quality systems.
• Experience in using 3DX and CATIA.
