Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Electrician Technician to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various electrical systems and equipment. This senior role requires a strong technical background, leadership potential, the ability to work independently, and the capacity to guide and mentor junior technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring work is in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Diagnose electrical malfunctions and troubleshoot issues to determine the root cause of problems in power distribution, lighting, control systems, and other electrical installations.
  • Carry out necessary repairs and replacements of electrical components and parts, including but not limited to circuit breakers, transformers, motors, switches, and wiring.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Use various electrical testing instruments (e.g., multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters) to diagnose and verify electrical system performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards, ensure safety compliance, and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and installation work performed.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other technical staff and departments to resolve electrical issues and improve system performance.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and systems.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary electrical spare parts and materials by communicating needs to the relevant departments.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrician technicians.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of electrical maintenance procedures and best practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work order management and record-keeping is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or vocational training in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Electrician Technician, with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency in using various electrical testing instruments and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and mentor.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety procedures.
  • Must possess a valid and transferable Iqama in Saudi Arabia.
  • Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is an advantage.
