Job description

Aramco energizes the world economy.

Aramco occupies a special position in the global energy industry. We are one of the world’s largest producers of hydrocarbons and chemicals, with among the lowest upstream carbon intensities of any major producer.

With significant investments in technology and infrastructure, we aim to maximize the value of the energy we produce and enhance Aramco’s societal value.

Headquartered in Saudi Arabia, with offices worldwide, we combine market discipline with a long-term view, driven by our nine decades of experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdom’s hydrocarbon resources. Our responsibility has enabled us to deliver societal and economic benefits to the Kingdom and global communities that rely on our reliable energy supply.

We are one of the most profitable companies globally and among the top five by market capitalization.

Overview

We seek an attorney with structured projects and commodity trading experience, especially with long-term supply contracts and offtake agreements, to join Saudi Aramco’s Law Organization at our Dhahran headquarters.

Our Law Organization is expanding to support growth in exploration, production, refining, marketing, petrochemicals, renewables, power, and other energy sectors. We offer a challenging and sophisticated in-house legal environment for adventurous professionals interested in working at a leading global company.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide commercially oriented legal advice on commercial agreements related to investments, including long-term crude and product sales, imports, refined product and chemical offtakes, processing agreements, tolling, and international hydrocarbon trading.
  • Support general corporate legal matters, including transactions, governance, litigation, compliance, risk management, environmental, HR, and technology issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Law Management and provide guidance to other legal staff.
  • Monitor and advise on regulatory environments affecting the company, and prepare updates for Law Management.
  • Draft and issue legal opinions on complex corporate rights, obligations, contracts, and agreements.
Minimum Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Juris Doctor or Master of Law, with relevant experience.
  • Have at least 12 years of legal experience.
  • Be licensed and in good standing in the US, Canada, UK, EU, or an equivalent jurisdiction.
  • Possess over 6 years of experience with a reputable law firm or corporation, ideally with a mix of private and in-house practice.
  • Have strong structured projects experience, especially with commercial contracts linked to investments.
  • Possess experience in commercial contracts, transactions, governance, litigation, risk management, or environmental law, considered a plus.
  • Trading or maritime experience is a plus, as is proficiency in Arabic or Mandarin.
Working Environment

Our high-performing employees are attracted by the challenging and rewarding opportunities we offer, supported by significant investment in capital and technology.

We invest heavily in talent development and have a long-standing tradition of training our workforce through extensive development programs, making us one of the largest in the world.
