Job summary

Egis is a leading international firm delivering architecture, consulting, construction engineering and mobility services. We seek an experienced commercial administrator to lead contract administration and manage commercial risks for complex development projects in the Middle East.

The role requires strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills, with a solid background in contract types (FIDIC) and ERP tools. Collaboration with project teams and client representatives is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Commercial Management, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of contract types (FIDIC or similar), cost control principles, and commercial risk management.
  • Proven experience handling claims, variations, procurement, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial and contractual administration of construction works on behalf of the supervision consultant, ensuring contract compliance.
  • Oversee the contractor’s commercial performance, including payment applications, variations, claims, extensions of time, and other submissions.
  • Review contractor valuations and payment applications, verifying measurements, progress, supporting documentation, and contractual compliance.
  • Assess variations, claims, change orders, and extension of time requests, providing recommendations to the client and supporting negotiations.
  • Monitor commercial risks, cost impacts, and potential claims, advising on mitigation and strategy.
  • Review contract documents, BOQs, specs, drawings, schedules, and other commercial documentation for proper administration.
  • Prepare commercial reports, forecasts, dashboards, and recommendations for Project Director and client team.
  • Coordinate with Project Director, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Planning, technical disciplines, and client representatives on commercial matters.
  • Manage contractual correspondence, notices, instructions, and other formal communications with the contractor.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with obligations, escalate risks or non-compliances to the client.
  • Support dispute resolution and commercial negotiations to protect the client’s interests.
  • Lead commercial closeout activities, including final account assessment, reconciliation, and documentation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Commercial Management, or related field.
  • Extensive commercial experience in construction, infrastructure, or landscape contracting.
  • Strong knowledge of contract types (FIDIC or similar), cost control principles, and commercial risk management.
  • Proven experience handling claims, variations, procurement, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in commercial software/tools (e.g., ERP systems, cost control software).
  • Professional certifications (MRICS, RICS) are an added advantage.
