Sr. Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in technical disciplines or diploma in computer science or equivalent field.

Technology Stack:

• Hot/Online Backups: HYCU, VeeAM, Commvault, or NetBackup
• Archive Backups: QStar ASM & Spectra Logic Stack
• Offsite Backups: Media Tapes Rotation
• DR Replication: RP4VM, Nutanix D, VeeAM, Zerto, Carbonite, or Arcserve

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily operations including Backup, Restore, and Archive tasks.
• Actively monitor backup and archive jobs to ensure successful execution.
• Manage Data Protection solutions such as HYCU, QStar ASM, SpectraLogic Stack, and NFS/SMB/S3 repositories.
• Ensure backup integrity, disaster recovery readiness, and respond to incidents.
• Restore virtual machines, databases, mailboxes, and files as needed.
• Automate backup scheduling and validation processes.
• Manage rotation for offsite media tape storage at vendor facilities.
• Troubleshoot backup-related failures and optimize storage usage.
• Configure and generate scheduled and on-demand reports.
• Perform product upgrades and patches.
• Manage SSL certificates and licenses.
• Perform maintenance and manage physical and virtual appliances.
• Oversee lifecycle management of hardware and software.
• Manage data protection and disaster recovery solutions including replication, failover, failback, testing, and validation.
• Plan and test disaster recovery procedures for all MAF applications such as Kastle WLS, AML, OBI, DMS, Masar Portal, and Eservices.
• Document Service Recovery Procedures (SRP) for related services.
• Conduct periodic system checks and optimizations.
• Respond promptly to incidents and service requests.
• Handle change management processes.
