Job description

The Sports Lawyer will provide legal support for all player signings under the PACE program and assist in preparing disciplinary case files for breaches of internal regulations by Saudi Pro League clubs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Player Transfers (PACE Program):
    1. Review, draft, and negotiate (if any) all SPL PACE founded players contracts in compliance with Saudi Pro League and FIFA regulations.
    2. Ensure adherence to local and international rules regarding transfers, registrations, and image rights.
  2. Disciplinary Proceedings:
    1. Investigate and document potential violations of league regulations by clubs (e.g., late kick-off).
    2. Prepare legal reports and sanction recommendations for the Disciplinary Committee.
    3. Represent the league in arbitration proceedings or before bodies such as FIFA or the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), if required.
    4. Stay updated on FIFA, AFC, and Saudi Pro League regulations.
    5. Propose adjustments to internal policies to mitigate legal risks.
    6. Collaborate with other departments (finance, competitions) to ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Law degree. Master’s or specialization in Sports Law (preferred).
  2. Experience: 3-5 years in sports law (club, league, agency, or specialized firm).
  3. Key Knowledge: FIFA regulations, transfer rules, dispute resolution, and contract law.
  4. Languages: Fluency in English (essential); Arabic (preferred).
  5. Skills: Negotiation, legal drafting, risk assessment, and ability to work under pressure.
