Job Summary

The Specialist, Auditor supports the internal audit team by performing specific tasks during audits, including data gathering, testing, and documenting audit evidence. This role focuses on assisting senior auditors during the fieldwork and reporting phases of audits and helps ensure that audit objectives are met efficiently. The Specialist role is designed to provide exposure to various types of audits, offering opportunities for professional development and advancement into senior auditing roles based on performance and experience.

About the Role
Audit Support
  • Assist in Audit Execution: Support the lead auditor in performing audits by gathering relevant data, conducting testing, and documenting findings under supervision.
  • Data Collection & Testing: Collect and analyze data to evaluate processes, systems, and controls, ensuring that audit tasks are completed accurately and timely.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of audit activities, ensuring all audit evidence is properly recorded and traceable.
  • Conduct audits, investigations, and provide advisory services to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, improve processes, and uphold organizational standards.
Audit Phases
  • Fieldwork: Perform detailed testing and data analysis as part of the audit fieldwork process, under the guidance of senior auditors.
    • Review financial records, transactions, and internal controls.
    • Identify discrepancies, risks, and control weaknesses based on audit procedures.
  • Reporting: Assist in drafting audit reports by summarizing findings and making recommendations for improvements based on data gathered during the audit.
    • Follow up on audit findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented as directed.
    • Communicate results of testing and analysis to senior auditors for review and inclusion in final reports.
Role in Development
  • Rotational Exposure: Gain exposure to different types of audits (e.g., operational, financial, and project-based audits) to broaden auditing skills and knowledge.
  • Professional Growth: Develop technical expertise and audit competencies with a goal to progress into a Senior Specialist role based on performance, learning, and experience.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in training and development activities to improve auditing knowledge and understanding of emerging trends, tools, and methodologies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in auditing, accounting, or related fields.
  • Prior experience in supporting audit engagements or in a similar role is preferred, but not required.
