Job Title: Solar Energy Field Engineer
Location: Various project sites across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Reports To: Managing Director
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Solar Energy Field Engineer to oversee the execution and delivery of commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar PV projects across Saudi Arabia. The Construction Engineer will be responsible for all site-based construction activities from mobilization to commissioning, ensuring compliance with local authorities such as Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), SERA, MOMAH, and Civil Defense. This role requires strong leadership, coordination, and technical skills to manage multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors while maintaining cost, quality, safety, and schedule performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Construction Management & Supervision
- Oversee day-to-day site operations for solar PV construction projects (ground-mounted, rooftop, carports, or hybrid).
- Ensure adherence to the construction schedule, budget, design specifications, and Saudi regulations.
- Supervise civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical works (including trenching, mounting structure, cable laying, inverter/MV room installation, and interconnection).
- Review construction drawings, method statements, and material approvals.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Permitting
- Coordinate with relevant authorities including SEC, Municipalities, Civil Defense for inspections, NOCs, and energization approvals.
- Ensure implementation of local codes such as SASO, IEC, IECEx, and Saudi Building Code.
- Assist in final inspection preparation for SEC commissioning and grid connection.
3. Quality, HSE & Risk Management
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards in accordance OSHA frameworks.
- Manage site safety programs, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections and manage non-conformity resolution.
4. Stakeholder Coordination & Communication
- Lead coordination meetings with EPC contractors, consultants, clients, and regulatory inspectors.
- Provide weekly and monthly progress reports with site photos, S-curves, workfront updates, and look-ahead plans.
- Serve as the client’s primary contact on-site and represent the company in technical and progress meetings.
5. Resource & Subcontractor Management
- Supervise local and international subcontractors, labor teams, and equipment suppliers.
- Monitor resource allocation to ensure optimal productivity.
- Validate daily reports, approve timesheets, and monitor site expenditures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 7+ years experience in construction management with at least 3+ years in solar PV projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Strong knowledge of SEC standards, permitting processes, and final commissioning procedures.
- Experience with BOQ tracking, project Gantt charts, progress billing, and EPC scope execution.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, MS Project / Primavera, and field productivity tools.
Certifications Preferred:
- Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership – mandatory
- NEBOSH / OSHA or HSE Supervisor Certification is preferred.
- SEC Solar Installer certificate is preferred.
- PMP or equivalent Project Management Certification is preferred.
- SEC grid connection and PV system commissioning experience is a strong advantage

Working Conditions:
- Based on-site; working in desert, rooftop, or remote environments.
- Working hours may extend during critical construction phases.
- Must wear appropriate PPE and comply with site-specific safety protocols.
